A SMALL FIRST WIN
Before you start
Use the official Grok Bot app and check your account's current eligibility. This guide is for Grok Bot, not an ordinary Grok chat or a similarly named third-party bot.
- Grok Bot access
- A short list of approved public sources
- A topic, freshness window, and inclusion rules
Use sample or approved information for your first run. Keep the review step visible before you expand the workflow.
LET’S DO THE WORK
Follow these four steps
- 01
Give one Bot one research job
Open Grok Bot. Use your first Bot or create one for this research topic. Name the job and provide a small source list. Start with public sources so the first exercise does not need account connections.
You’re ready when: The job is narrow enough that you can judge the result.
Step 1 · illustrated workflow - 02
Run the research once
Send the research prompt with real URLs. Inspect every link and date. Remove any source that cannot support its claims, then ask for a corrected digest before saving the process.
You’re ready when: The digest uses evidence you can open and verify.
Step 2 · illustrated workflow - 03
Save the successful method as a skill
Ask the Bot to save the corrected research method as a named skill. Include your source list, inclusion rules, output fields, and what to do when there is no useful news.
You’re ready when: The saved instructions contain the corrections from your trial.
Step 3 · illustrated workflow - 04
Create and inspect the routine
Send the repeat prompt. Open the Bot's details and review the routine's schedule and time zone. Use Test if it is offered, or request one manual run and inspect the first scheduled result.
You’re ready when: The routine exists, the schedule matches, and you know how to pause it.
Step 4 · illustrated workflow
COPY, ADAPT, AND TRY
Your first run starts here.
Practice watch list Topic: practical AI training for small teams. Sources: official product release notes. Window: the last 7 days. Keep: changes with a clear work use case.
From these official sources: [paste three URLs], find up to three updates published in the last seven days about [topic]. For each, give the publication date, direct source link, what changed, and one practical use. Distinguish a release date from the article date. Exclude repeated announcements and unsupported speculation. If nothing qualifies, say so. Return the digest here; do not post or contact anyone. If a source cannot be read, identify the gap.
Weekly research digest Item: [verified update title] Published: [source date] Source: [direct official URL] Use: [specific work application] No qualifying item? Say that plainly.
Actual output will vary. Use this example to judge structure and accuracy, not as a promise of a successful run.
KEEP THE USEFUL PART
Make it repeatable.
After the first result meets your needs, use this follow-on prompt to carry the method forward.
Save the reviewed method as a skill called Useful AI Research Watch. Then create a routine for this Bot to run that skill every Monday at 8:00 AM America/New_York. Use the current seven-day window. Return the digest here, including source failures. Do not publish or contact anyone. Show the saved routine and confirm its time zone. Run a test if available.
If this feature is not available
If routines are unavailable in your account, keep the prompt and run the research manually. If a website blocks access, use an allowed official feed or a document you provide; flag the missing coverage.
YOUR FINAL CHECK
Is the result ready to use?
- Official source and direct link for each item
- Correct publication and event dates
- Duplicates removed
- No update is a valid outcome
