Choose one workday problem
A useful system begins with a specific task and a clear definition of a good result. Use the exercise below with a real example. Do not connect accounts, publish content, or change a customer record during this exercise.
Your practical exercise
Choose one recurring task from the last seven days. Record what started it, the information you needed, the manual steps, and how you judged a good result. Decide whether to eliminate, simplify, assist, or automate it. Do not start with tool shopping.
Write down your decision
My task is: ____. The person who owns the outcome is: ____. A good result looks like: ____. The information I can safely use is: ____. A human must review: ____. I will test it with: ____.
A useful finish line
Ask another person to read the description, or return to it the next day. Can you explain the input, action, and expected result without naming a tool? Tighten the task until you can. Then choose a reversible experiment with a manual fallback.
